Mercedes Sprinter Heating System

The Webasto heating system has fitted like a dream.  It fits neatly underneath the Sprinter chassis just behind the rear axle which will protect it from any high or uneven road surface.  With being able to locate the heater here it will also be very quiet when running so no noise will not be heard in the living area of the Mercedes campervan.

Finally Delivered Mercedes 319Cdi

We finally took delivery of the New Mercedes 319 Cdi on the 29th December.  The reason that it took so long was that the Mercedes dealership ordered it in the wrong colour!! All is well now, and the back door has been part fitted.  The vehicle has now gone to have the new Webasto heater fitted. I will update the progress (after Monday) as to how the campervan is coming along.

Delivery of New Graphite Mercedes Sprinter

Any day we should get to see the new metallic Graphite Grey colour on the new V6 Mercedes, of which we take delivery at the end of this month.  This is our latest build and the Mercedes campervan is planned to be finished in March. We will keep you posted on the build process.

New Look Veneer For Mercedes Campervan

We have found a replacement veneer for the Mercedes campervan in a dark Zabrano, which looks stunning, the only problem is that it comes in a wax finish instead of a high gloss.

The advantage to a high gloss is that it does help to reflect the light within the campervan.  There is a possibility that we could get a high gloss coat for it at a later date.

Walnut Discontinued in Mercedes Campervan

Today we found out that our popular choice of walnut veneer that we fit in our V-trek campervans has now been discontinued, which is a bit disappointing as it has been very popular with our customers. So keep an eye on the blog for the new veneer to replaced it in our future campervans.

Go Green - Toilet Granules For Mercedes Campervan!

A fantastic toilet granule for the Mercedes campervan.  Kem Direct have produced a totally green product that is a dry granular product, so no spillage or staining, no horrible chemical smell, and completely breaks down the solids and paper.  The Caravan Club have recommended that campervans and caravans should use this product or similar on their sites.  Over in Europe many sites will not allow the campervan onto the campsite unless they have a green product like this.

Dongle Ariel for Campervan Convsersion

While looking into satellite internet connection for the v-trek campervans, I have come across a dongle ariel. This would be a great, cheaper alternative for the not so serious surfer while away on holiday.  The advantage to having an ariel installed into the campervan conversion would help the signal to the dongle become much stronger.  (Being encase by metal walls of the campervan is not helpful for a good signal!)  The ariel would be a permanent fitting and just plug into the dongle when the laptop is being used for connection to the internet.

Satellite Internet For Mercedes Campervan

While at the show in Germany we were keen to source an internet satellite dish for our Mercedes campervan conversions, this would enable the campervan user to connect to the internet, anywhere in the world while travelling away from home.  There are many different options available especially with the user tariffs.  Many people would benefit with the use of skype phone, for free telephone calls while away in their campervans, along with finding out local knowledge of places visited.

New Campervan Layout Ideas

While at the show in Germany we picked up many new ideas for the internal layout of our campervan conversion.  We liked the idea of one company who had rounded the corner of their sofa to give a slightly larger seating area within the lounge area of the campervan.  We were surprised to see that many campervans had not included a grill or main oven within them, only gas rings for cooking.

Great Campervan Show

We had a great show at Dusseldorf and met up with a new contact from Kubus. The company is based in Germany and converts Mercedes Sprinter vans into very high spec campervans, a very similar company to V-trek.  The conversion that we saw at the show was for a two birth campervan, but Kubus have converted large lorries for customers in the past.  Peter was able to pass on some very valuable advice and Kubus are interested in the V-trek rear door conversion to add to their range of vehicles.

Campervan Conversions & Caravan Show Dusseldorf

We are going to Germany this week to visit the huge trade show in Dusseldorf, to check out new ideas and appliances for our Mercedes conversions.

This show is held every year at the exhibition centre in Dusseldorf and is one of the largest in Europe with companies from all over the EU attending, so a great way to catch up on suppliers and find new ideas for our V-trek campervans.

If you also attended and saw any great new ideas, let us know!

New Mercedes Graphite Grey

Mercedes have just brought out a new metallic Graphite Grey to their colour range, which we feel will be a very popular colour for future V-trek campervans.

It is great to see that campervans and motorhomes are moving away from the white box image!

V-trek Campervan Trip to Sweden

We have just returned from a trip to Sweden, such a lovely country and people.

We took the ferry over from Harwich to Esbjerg which took 19 hours, so we had plenty of time to unwind and relax on the ferry, when we landed, we travelled East on the E20 through Denmark, over two very large and expensive toll bridges £30 for one and £50 for the other! From Malmo we travelled north on the E4 to Jonkoping were we were visiting a trade show for 4 days.  Wild camped in a lovely spot by the forest and we joined up with our friends who flew out to visit the show as well.  When the trade show had finished we travelled south East to Kalmar were we visited a spectacular castle with moat, we stayed in a campsite that night and filled up with water and empted grey tanks.  The next day we travelled west to Denmark, the cosmopolitan city of Copenhagen.  There was a fantastic aires de service right in the centre of the city, all within easy walking distance, and what a beautiful city it is!  Had a lovely meal in the evening and fireworks.  Then all too soon we had to go to Esbjerg to catch the ferry back to the UK.  I would love to go back to Sweden and see more of the country.  The weather was very hot when the sun came out and a lovely clean fresh air, with stunning views.

Successful Lincs Show

V-trek had a very successful Lincolnshire show.  The weather was fantastic for both days, which is a bit unusual!

I would like to thank everyone who called in to see us and the campervan on the show days, and many thanks for the kind hospitality of Witham for letting us show on their stand.

If you visited the stand and have any further questions please do not hesitate to get in contact with us.  See you soon.
